Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 March 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”, “Agreement”) govern your access to and use of the website, tools, training materials, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) operated by itbit.cc (“itbit”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using our Services, or by clicking a button or taking similar action to signify your acceptance of this Agreement, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are entering into this Agreement on behalf of a company, organisation, or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, in which case “you” and “your” shall refer to that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms or our Privacy Policy, you may not access or use the Services.
1. Definitions
Throughout this Agreement, the following definitions apply.
“Account” means the personal or organisational account you create to access the Services.
“Content” means any text, data, files, images, or other materials uploaded, submitted, or transmitted through the Services, including website data processed during security scans.
“Covered Website” means any website you have registered with itbit for the purpose of receiving security scanning, monitoring, automated patching, or related services.
“Services” means the itbit.cc website, WordPress security scanning tools, automated vulnerability patching, vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, training materials, course manuals, workbooks, e-books, and any other products or services we offer, whether accessed via the website, a plugin, an API, or any other means.
“Subscription” means a recurring plan (monthly or annual) that grants you access to specific tiers of the Services for a defined billing period.
“One-Time Purchase” means a non-recurring purchase of a service package, e-book, course material, or other product sold for a single fee.
2. Eligibility
To use the Services, you must:
• be at least eighteen (18) years of age;
• complete the registration process where required;
• agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy; and
• provide true, complete, and up-to-date information.
By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above requirements and that you will not use the Services in a way that violates any applicable laws or regulations. We reserve the right to refuse service, close accounts, and change eligibility requirements at any time.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your Account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your Account or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information.
You may not share your password, allow anyone else to access your Account, sell or transfer your Account, or do anything that might put your Account at risk.
3.1 Termination for Breach
If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have breached any provision of this Agreement, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your Account immediately, without prior notice. In such cases, you shall not be entitled to any refund of fees paid, regardless of whether a refund would otherwise have been available under Section 7 of these Terms. Any remaining service period shall be forfeited.
4. Description of Services
itbit.cc provides WordPress security services, which may include but are not limited to:
• automated and manual security scanning of WordPress websites;
• vulnerability detection and reporting;
• automated vulnerability patching and remediation, whereby discovered security issues are fixed on your Covered Website without manual intervention (available on eligible Subscription tiers);
• security monitoring and alerting;
• security awareness training materials, including course textbooks, workbooks, and e-books;
• one-time service packages for security assessment and hardening;
• consultancy and advisory services related to WordPress security; and
• any additional features or tools made available through the Services from time to time.
The specific features available to you depend on the service tier, Subscription, or One-Time Purchase you have selected.
4.1 Affiliate Programme
All registered users are automatically enrolled in the itbit.cc Affiliate Programme and receive a unique affiliate code upon sign-up. The Affiliate Programme, including commission structure, payout terms, promotional guidelines, and reporting, is governed by a separate Affiliate Agreement. By participating in the Affiliate Programme, you agree to the terms of that agreement. You can access your affiliate dashboard, referral reports, and affiliate code from within your Account.
4.2 Automated Vulnerability Patching
Where your Subscription tier includes automated vulnerability patching, itbit will apply security patches, updates, and configuration changes to your Covered Website when vulnerabilities are detected. You acknowledge and agree that:
• automated patching involves modifying files, plugins, themes, and configurations on your Covered Website;
• while we take reasonable care to ensure patches are applied safely, any modification to a live website carries inherent risk, including the possibility of temporary disruption, incompatibility with custom code, or unintended side effects;
• you are solely responsible for maintaining current backups of your Covered Website before and during the use of the automated patching service; and
• itbit shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or disruption caused by the application of automated patches, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence.
5. Use of the Services
5.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You represent and warrant that you will not use the Services to:
• scan, test, or probe any website that you do not own or do not have explicit written authorisation to test;
• upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
• attempt to probe, scan, or test the security of the itbit.cc infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or networks;
• violate any applicable law or regulation, including data protection and privacy laws;
• infringe the intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any third party;
• interfere with or disrupt the Services or the servers and networks connected to the Services;
• use the Services to send unsolicited communications or spam;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services;
• scrape, index, or data-mine any portion of the Services; or
• encourage or assist anyone in doing any of the above.
5.2 Authorisation to Scan and Patch
By registering a Covered Website with the Services, you represent and warrant that you are the owner of that website or that you have obtained explicit written authorisation from the owner to perform security scans, assessments, and automated patching on it. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services complies with any agreements you have with hosting providers, website owners, or other third parties.
5.3 Fair Use
Certain service tiers may be subject to fair use limits on the number of scans, the frequency of monitoring, or the volume of data processed. If your usage significantly exceeds normal patterns, we may contact you to discuss your needs or adjust your Subscription accordingly.
6. Content and Intellectual Property
6.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to the Content you submit through the Services. By using the Services, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to access, process, store, and display your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you. We will not sell your Content to third parties.
You are responsible for the Content you submit and for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to share it with us.
6.2 Our Intellectual Property
The Services, including the website, software, tools, training materials, course manuals, workbooks, e-books, logos, trademarks, and all original content, features, and functionality, are and shall remain the exclusive property of itbit.cc. They are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any of our intellectual property without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by a separate written agreement.
6.3 Training Materials and E-Books
Course textbooks, workbooks, e-books, and other training materials provided as part of the Services are licensed for your internal use only. You may print copies for use within your organisation’s training sessions. In the event of a refund, you may retain any e-books and course materials already delivered to you. However, you may not redistribute, resell, or republish any training materials without our prior written consent.
7. Fees, Payment, Refunds, and Cancellation
7.1 Subscription Fees
If you purchase a Subscription, you agree to pay all applicable fees (“Subscription Fees”) as set out at the time of purchase. Subscription Fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select) and are charged to the payment method you provide.
7.2 One-Time Purchase Fees
If you purchase a one-time service package, e-book, or course material, you agree to pay the applicable fee at the time of purchase.
7.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorise us to charge the applicable Subscription Fee to your payment method upon each renewal.
7.4 Price Changes
We may change our fees at any time by posting updated pricing on our website. Price changes will not affect your current billing period. Any new pricing will apply from the start of your next billing period following the change.
7.5 Refund Policy
We offer a fourteen (14) day refund window from the date of purchase, subject to the following rules.
One-Time Purchases (service packages, e-books, course materials). If you request a refund within fourteen (14) days of purchase, we will refund the full amount. Upon refund of a service package, the associated services will be closed and your Covered Website will be reverted to the state it was in at the time of purchase. You may keep any e-books and course materials already delivered to you.
Subscriptions (monthly or annual). If you cancel within fourteen (14) days of the start of your Subscription (or of a renewal), we will refund the full Subscription Fee for that period. Upon refund, the monitoring, automated patching, and all other Subscription services will be cancelled, and your Covered Website will be reverted to the state it was in at the time of purchase. If you cancel after the fourteen (14) day window, no refund will be issued. The Subscription will remain active and fully operational until the end of the current paid billing period, at which point it will expire without renewal. In this case, your Covered Website will be left in its current updated and patched state — no reversion will be performed.
7.6 How to Cancel
You may cancel your Subscription or request a refund at any time by logging into your Account, navigating to Account Settings, locating the Danger Zone, and clicking the Cancel Services button. You will be asked to confirm your cancellation. Refunds are processed automatically in accordance with the rules set out in Section 7.5 above.
7.7 Serial Cancellation Policy
We welcome users who wish to try the Services and cancel if they are not satisfied. However, if you cancel your Account and subsequently sign up again, you may do so once. If you cancel a second time, your Account will be permanently closed and you will not be permitted to register for a new Account. This policy exists to prevent abuse of the refund system and to ensure the sustainability of our Services.
7.8 Taxes
You are responsible for all applicable taxes associated with your use of the Services, except for taxes based on our net income.
8. Third-Party Services
The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, or services (“Third-Party Services”). We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any Third-Party Services. Your use of Third-Party Services is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of those third parties.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We expressly disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:
• the Services will detect all vulnerabilities, malware, or security threats affecting your Covered Websites;
• automated patches or fixes applied by the Services will resolve all vulnerabilities or will not affect the functionality, appearance, or performance of your Covered Websites;
• the Services will prevent infection, re-infection, or exploitation of your Covered Websites;
• your Covered Websites will be completely safe, secure, or free from vulnerabilities after using the Services;
• the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; or
• the results obtained from the Services will be accurate or reliable.
No security product or service can guarantee complete protection.
The Services are designed to help you identify and mitigate risks, and where applicable, to apply fixes on a best-efforts basis. They do not eliminate all security threats. You acknowledge that the ultimate responsibility for the security of your websites and systems remains with you, and that maintaining current backups is essential when using any service that modifies your website.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall itbit.cc, its directors, officers, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, regardless of the theory of liability.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, we shall not be liable for any damage, disruption, data loss, or downtime resulting from the application of automated patches or fixes to your Covered Websites.
Our total cumulative liability for any and all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless itbit.cc, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
• your use of the Services;
• your violation of these Terms;
• your violation of any applicable law or regulation;
• your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property, privacy, or other proprietary rights;
• any Content you submit through the Services; or
• your failure to obtain proper authorisation to scan or patch a Covered Website.
This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of this Agreement.
12. Cancellation and Termination
12.1 By You
You may cancel your Subscription at any time by navigating to Account Settings, locating the Danger Zone, clicking the Cancel Services button, and confirming your decision. If the cancellation is made within the fourteen (14) day refund window, it takes effect immediately and a refund is processed in accordance with Section 7.5. If the cancellation is made after the fourteen (14) day window, the Services remain active until the end of the current paid billing period, at which point the Subscription expires without renewal.
12.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, without prior notice or liability, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. We may also discontinue the Services or any part of them at any time. In the event of termination for breach, no refund shall be issued, as set out in Section 3.1.
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases in accordance with the applicable cancellation rules. We may delete your Account and associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.
13. Data Protection
Our collection and use of personal information in connection with the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this Agreement. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised “Last updated” date. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. We will make reasonable efforts to highlight material changes on the website, but we are not obligated to notify you individually of every update.
Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using the Services and cancel your Account.
15. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, the Affiliate Agreement, and any supplemental terms applicable to specific Services, constitute the entire agreement between you and itbit.cc regarding the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings, and communications, whether oral or written.
17. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under this Agreement without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under this Agreement without restriction.
18. Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by us to be effective.
19. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under this Agreement where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, government actions, power failures, internet disruptions, or third-party service outages.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
This Agreement and any disputes arising from or relating to it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
